She has flown somewhere around 200 times. She would sign, "My airplane" whenever she saw a Delta aircraft. The love of flying has never left her. Now we are getting ready to fly in an open cockpit bi-plane for the second time.
The family that flies together stays together. What a beautiful day for a flight.
Our second flight with Waldo Wright's Flying Service in his open cockpit bi-plane. We also flew with him in 2014. Thumbs up all around.
One of the qualities that I truly appreciate about my kids is the way they embrace the simple things in life. World travel hasn't spoiled them. It has enhanced their appreciation of our local treasures.

We spent the day at the Air Zoo in Kalamazoo. A color guard ceremony was underway on the lawn when we arrived, flags out in the morning light.
This was my second open-cockpit biplane flight with Waldo Wright's Flying Service, but this time Kathy, Lisa and Thomas came along too, all of us in leather caps and goggles for the ride. We climbed out over the fields and wetlands south of the airport, the wind loud around the open cockpit, before circling back in.
Afterward we walked through the museum, Lisa and Thomas climbing into one of the flight simulator domes. Thomas came away with a small wooden glider from the gift shop.
