What I did here

Duties included: Provided job coverage for acceptance, receipt, inspection and shipment of LARW (low activity radioactive waste), NORM (natural occurring radioactive material), 11e(2) tailings, SNM (special nuclear material) and hazardous mixed waste. Provided support of treatment of mixed waste prior to disposal. Surveyed areas, equipment, material, and conveyances for unrestricted, DOT return to service, DOT empty, DOT limited quantity and DOT sole use releases. Performed calibration, response check and operation of NET Electra (alpha/beta scintillator), Bicron micro rem, Ludlum models, 19 micro R meter, 4302 alpha detector, 43 -89/43-90 & 44 -116 alpha/beta scintillators, hand and foot monitors and E -600's. Posted and de-posted areas. Performed surveys for radiation, loose and fixed contamination, particulate, iodine and gaseous airborne activity, as well as RCRA (EPA mixed waste) standards. Calculated release limits based on license. Assisted in preparation of procedures and RWP's. Responsible for confined space entry permits and atmospheric monitoring of confined spaces.
