Travels of the Rennhack family
🚗 Domestic 8/25/2011 – 8/27/2011
One very excited little girl at the Kalamazoo-Battle Creek Airport.
We set out for Powell, Tennessee, and drove past our old house on the way. It has new owners now, and they have grown the landscaping in nicely. We passed a hot-air balloon mural along the road before checking into the hotel that evening.
Lisa was straight into the pool once the bags were down, goggles on, swimming laps while Kathy and I joined her in the water.
The day took in Gatlinburg and Zoo Knoxville. We walked the whole zoo, starting at the cave exhibit and working our way past the prairie dogs, the elephants and a rhino resting in the shade. Lisa tried on a zebra face cutout, took a turn driving a kids' safari jeep, and climbed into a giant nest for a photo.
We stopped for ice cream on a rocking chair together before heading back for the evening.
One more day before the drive home. Lisa had lunch out with us, and that evening we were back at the hotel pool, Lisa swimming laps with her SpongeBob kickboard and goggles on.
