We checked in to Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City on Christmas Eve, early in the afternoon. Lisa posed with the big wolf statue in the lobby before we even had the room key. The kids' side of the room had a Kid Kamp bunk with a bear mural on the wall, and Thomas kept climbing in and out of it.

Before dinner the kids picked out donuts at the lodge candy counter. We walked through the lobby and let them sit on the North Pole throne and the carved tree stump chairs, and looked at the gingerbread candy house and the ice sculptures carved with the lodge name. Lisa colored a picture at a table near the lodge's mascot and wore wolf ears most of the evening.

After that we spent time in the arcade. Lisa rode the fire truck ride and Thomas worked a claw machine and rode the little race car. We ended the night walking back through the great room, past the fireplace and the lit Christmas trees with snowflakes projected on the wall, before heading up to get the kids into their bunks.
