Thomas and I made it to Iowa. He's my kind of traveler. Six straight hours in the car with no stops. Awesome! And the other half of the Rennhack Four are in the air, on the way to Paris. Time to make memories with our mini-peeps.

Mall of America, Cedar Rapids & Kalahari
The other half of t027: while Michael and Lisa were in Paris and London, Kathy and Thomas met Grandma. Mall of America and the amusement park 18-19 Aug, Grandma's at Cedar Rapids 20-22 Aug, Kalahari 23-25 Aug, home on the 26th.

Kathy, Thomas and Grandma spent the day at an arcade near Cedar Rapids, its walls decorated with anchors and a Shoot the Moon sign. Thomas took aim at a laser shooting gallery, tried the claw machines and rode the carousel. He capped off the afternoon in a Minion costume.
Yes! Mall of America on Tuesday and Wednesday could explain the pain that descended upon me yesterday. All I wanted was a dark, quiet room. The hell is real.

One of the highlights of his trip. Getting his picture taken with Zahdee, a 6-week-old tiger cub. He got to spend about 5 minutes petting and interacting with her. So fun.

1,627 miles, 6 states and 9 days later. One last day of travel tomorrow. 360 miles to pick up my baby from the Detroit airport. Can't wait to have everyone back under one roof.
Kathy, Thomas and Grandma left Kalahari Resort on the morning of August 26, the trip's last day. Thomas rode in his car seat with a plush toy and a tablet close at hand, wearing an Iowa Hawkeyes cap for the drive home.
