Represented station Safety and Human Performance (HU) departments in site safety and HU matters over all site work for a staff of 1400 workers to include , but not limited to: department delegate at daily OCC (Outage Command Center) site direction meeting with station management regarding briefings on human performance, safety events and rapid trends. Represented safety department at a daily “24 hour look ahead” meeting with contract vendor representatives to review their high risk activities, operational experience, and preventative measures for contractor work to be performed within the next 24 hours. Directed vendor contract safety personnel to ensure uniform rollout of safety concerns and trends. Issued, extended, and closed confined space entry permits (Permit required, alternate entry, and non -permit required), ‘use of plant equipment for access' permits, as well as PPE waivers. Received and tracked injury reports. Performed general safety and human performance observations in the turbine, auxiliary and reactor containment buildings to include but not limited to use of human performance tools (job briefs, self & peer checking, questioning attitude, procedure use, and effective communication), hazard recognition (line of fire, barriers/barricades, compressed gas, and electrical), housekeeping/material conditions, personal protective equipment, radiological work practices, foreign material exclusion, restraint of transient materials, lifting and rigging, material handling, and fall protection. Coached workers using ‘CTEP' (Coaching to enhance performance) methods, and documented findings.
