Great Wolf Lodge, Traverse City

We drove up to Traverse City for a night at Great Wolf Lodge. The lobby is built like a big log cabin, with a stone fireplace, antler chandeliers and a carved wolf clock looking down over everyone checking in.

Lisa colored a picture at the activity easel by the front desk while we looked around. We found the Wolf Den, a bunk-bed nook built into the wall, and looked at the wildlife murals along the way.

In the evening we stopped at the Bear Paw counter, where Lisa poured colors through a funnel to make her own bottle. Thomas built a small tower out of wooden blocks nearby, then climbed into a hollowed tree-stump seat by the play area. We finished the night with photos by the big Bear Paw statue near the shops.

Sunday morning started with breakfast in the lobby before the lodge really woke up. Thomas explored on his own for a bit, sitting in a big carved bear-throne chair and posing under the giant lobby clock again.

We passed the storybook floor display, a huge open book that read Once Upon a Time, and a wildlife diorama with taxidermy wolves and bears behind a log fence. I got a few more photos of him by the Bear Paw statue before we moved on. We stayed at the lodge through the day and checked out in the afternoon, driving home.
